Russia Claims Capture of Another Donetsk Village in Eastern Ukraine

(MENAFN) Russia announced Monday the seizure of yet another settlement in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, as front-line fighting around a key Ukrainian town continued to grind on.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated in an official release that its forces had taken control of the village of Molocharka, situated approximately 3 kilometers — roughly 1.8 miles — north of the strategically significant front-line town of Kostiantynivka. The ministry's statement referred to the village by its alternative designation, Khimik.

Ukraine's General Staff offered a contrasting account, acknowledging that Russian forces had launched 17 separate attacks near six settlements along the Kostiantynivka front, while making no reference to the fall of Molocharka.

Ukrainian authorities had yet to issue any direct response to Russia's territorial claim at the time of reporting. As with much battlefield news emerging from the conflict zone, independent verification of the assertion remains effectively impossible given the realities of active combat operations in the area.
