Russian-Controlled Luhansk Reports Drone Strike Casualties

(MENAFN) Authorities in the Russia-controlled Luhansk region have reported that three people were killed and three others injured in a Ukrainian drone strike on Saturday evening, according to reports citing local officials.

Leonid Pasechnik, the Russia-installed head of the region, said the incident occurred in the village of Bulhakovka in the Kreminna district. He claimed that a drone hit a group of young people near a residential building.

“An enemy drone deliberately struck young people who were outside near a house. Two eighteen-year-old young men and a 28-year-old girl died on the spot from their injuries. A fifteen-year-old boy and girl, as well as a 21-year-old young man, were wounded,” he said in a statement shared on Russian social media, according to reports.

At the same time, Ukrainian officials reported casualties from Russian strikes in the city of Dnipro. The head of the regional military administration said the death toll from a Saturday evening attack had risen to nine after another injured person died in hospital.

“A 24-year-old man who was wounded during the evening attack of the Russians on the Dnieper River died in hospital. During the day, enemy strikes on the city ended 9 lives,” he said, according to reports shared on Telegram.

Separately, Ukraine’s military General Staff claimed that its overnight operations struck targets inside Russia, including an oil refinery and air defense facilities in the Yaroslavl region.

As with previous wartime claims from both sides, independent verification of battlefield reports remains difficult due to ongoing hostilities.
